Naturum Dalarna & Björkberget tower

Five minutes from the cabin: the Naturum Dalarna visitor centre on Björkberget, with exhibitions on the Siljan meteorite crater and a lookout tower above the treetops. Free entry, great with kids, and the view over the lake is the best in the area.

The exhibitions are genuinely good for a rainy morning, and kids can pick up a nature quiz at the desk. Climb the tower first, then take one of the marked loops — the short one passes a perfect blueberry slope in late July.
