Långbryggan, Rättvik

Built in 1895 so the steamboats could dock in the shallow bay, today it's the best evening walk in the area. Go at sunset; the lake goes completely still and the light is unreal. Free, year-round (magical in winter too).

Park by the church and take the path through the old churchyard to the shore. In winter the pier stays open — walking out over the frozen lake at dusk is something you won't forget. The ice-cream kiosk at the landward end is open all summer.
